Do Something that Makes You Nervous

Today’s Quick Confidence Tip is to do something that makes you nervous.

Think of just one thing you’d like to do, that makes you nervous, or maybe a little anxious – nothing too demanding.

Now, let’s get prepared to make it happen.

  • Make yourself comfortable, either sitting or lying down.
  • Close your eyes.
  • Now, take a few deep breaths and allow your imagination to flow freely.
  • Imagine that you have loads of confidence and you’re actually doing whatever it is that makes you nervous.
  • After a few minutes of visualizing your confident adventure, open your eyes.
  • Now, write down what you were doing in your notebook.
  • Which areas of the vision can you take steps toward doing right now?
  • Write those steps down and make a start on them right away.

 

“Formulate and stamp indelibly on your mind a mental picture of yourself as succeeding. Hold this picture tenaciously. Never permit it to fade. Your mind will seek to develop the picture. . . . Do not build up obstacles in your imagination.”

 

Remember to break down anything that seems too big, or too difficult. Take small steps, and as soon as you’ve completed one step, move on to the next.

Before you know it, you’ll be able to do the thing that made you nervous.
