The Difference Between Mental Health and Emotional Health?

Are mental health and emotional health the same thing?
The two terms are often used interchangeably. After all, they’re both related to the workings of the mind aren’t they?
But, each of them is responsible for a different aspect of your mental well-being.
Although it’s more complicated in practice, the simplest way to explain the difference between the two is;
I suppose the most basic definition is that:
Mental Health = the thoughts that are created by the situation, and
Emotional Health = what you do, based on that situation.
You need them both for a healthy mental function
Overall, it’s better to have an generally healthy, mental function. And a good mental function is based on, Good Mental Health + Good Emotional Health.
Because obviously, you want to make emotionally sound decisions about any troubling interaction, or difficult situation.
And, the strategies available to you are going to be limited, if you’re having depressive, or anxious thoughts at the time. Leading to the chance of an inappropriate emotional response.
So, under normal circumstances, if you have a generally good psychological health, it’s easier to maintain them both.
You still need a good technique though
My hope here, is give you ways to develop a good technique. So that when you feel these difficult emotions, you can deal with them quickly.
Everyone regularly has stressful emotions come up. And it’s a good idea to have an arsenal of strategies and techniques to help you deal with them.
Hopefully, this short explanation has given you a better understanding of the differences between the two. And, why ideally, you should nurture them both, to be mentally healthy.
